Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too.

Listen with your eyes,
Listen with your ears,
and sing everything you see,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing along with me.

Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too!

For kids
What "causes" a rainbow? You see a rainbow when three things happen. First, water droplets are floating in the air. Second, the sun is behind you. Third, clouds are cleared from the sun. Here’s a way to remember the order of colors in aspectrum rainbow: ROY G BIV. “ROY G BIV” stands for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
For teachers
An on-chip super absorber that catches and absorbs light frequency is just one of the many amazing images you can share with students in the Multimedia Gallery of the National Science Foundation. A search function helps you find image, audio, and video in diverse research areas.
