What Are You Doing to Help the Environment?

“I’m just a kid. I can’t do anything.”

There’s lots that you can do. Remember —

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle — Three great ways YOU can eliminate waste and protect your environment!

Read all about these three R’s. Find out how many great things you may already be doing!

  • Did you say, “No, thanks” when offered a plastic bag in a store? That’s reducing waste.
  • Ever save a piece of paper to use it again? That’s reuse.
  • Did you put that empty plastic bottle in the recycling bin? That’s recycling.

Now that you are thinking about what you have done and can do, reuse a piece of paper and start a list. Make a chart like the one below, and put a check mark every time you reduce, reuse, or recycle during the week.

I reduced waste

I reused

I recycled

You can see what you do in a week for the environment, what a kid can do!
